The Belden 9842 (SKU: BE9842-1000-060 / 9842 0601000) is the industry-standard 2-pair 24 AWG low-capacitance shielded data cable engineered specifically for extended-distance EIA RS-485, DMX-512, and high-noise industrial serial communication networks.

Constructed with stranded tinned copper conductors (7 * 32) and High-Density Polyethylene (PE) insulation, the cable delivers a low mutual capacitance of 12.8 pF/ft (42 pF/m) and a matched 120 Ω characteristic impedance. To ensure signal integrity in electrically noisy environments, the Belden 9842 features dual overall shielding: a 100% coverage Beldfoil® aluminum/mylar foil tape wrap combined with a 90% tinned copper wire braid shield and a 24 AWG tinned copper drain wire. Enclosed in a rugged, oil- and flame-retardant Chrome PVC outer jacket, it provides ultra-reliable signal transmission across marine, industrial, and building automation systems.
