BEP Marine Hydraulic-Magnetic Circuit Breakers (Single & Double Pole)
BEP Marine Single and Double Pole Hydraulic-Magnetic Circuit Breakers (utilizing Airpax/Sensata IEG/IUG architecture) provide circuit protection and manual switching across AC and DC marine electrical distribution panels. Operating on a hydraulic-magnetic sensing principle rather than thermal bi-metal strips, their trip thresholds remain unaffected by engine room heat, panel enclosure temperatures, or ambient environmental fluctuations.
Single-pole units are typically deployed for DC branch load isolation, while double-pole variants provide simultaneous line and neutral switching for AC 120V/230V shore power inputs, generator mains, or 24V DC ungrounded systems. Equipped with a trip-free mechanism, the breaker cannot be held "ON" manually during an active overload or fault condition.
Key Features
-
Temperature-Stable Hydraulic-Magnetic Sensing: Maintains exact current trip calibration regardless of ambient temperature changes inside sealed helm or engine space panels.
-
Simultaneous Double-Pole Common Trip: Double-pole units feature an internal cross-bar mechanism that trips both poles simultaneously if a fault occurs on either leg.
-
Safety Trip-Free Operation: Internal contacts open during a fault even if the external toggle actuator is physically held in the "ON" position.
-
Dual AC/DC Voltage Compatibility: Universal switching design rated up to 65V DC and 250V AC (50/60 Hz).
-
Panel-Mount Architecture: Fits standard BEP modular AC/DC distribution panels and custom switchboards via standard M3 or 6-32 mounting screws.
- Spacing compliance: IEC specification 601, 950; VDE 0804, 0805
- UL recognized; CSA certified; VDE 0660 approved; Part 101 & CE compliant
- Available in single or double pole; triple pole available on special orders
- Please Note: Part numbers shown are all BEP specific and have no reference to the Airpax part number system
