BEP DuraSeal Blue Adhesive-Lined Heat-Shrink Butt Splice (10-Pack)
The BEP D406-0002 (TE Connectivity Raychem DuraSeal) is a commercial 10-pack of blue 16–14 AWG (1.5-2.5 mm²) adhesive-lined, heat-shrinkable crimp butt splice connectors engineered for environment-resistant wire-to-wire terminations. Designed to isolate electrical splices against water, bilge acid, fuel, and salt-air corrosion, it provides environmental sealing and high-tensile strain relief for mid-gauge marine branch circuits.
Manufactured with a high-purity, tin-plated copper alloy crimp barrel housed inside a radiation cross-linked polyamide (nylon) heat-shrink sleeve, the D406-0002 features an inner wall coated with a hot-melt thermoplastic adhesive. Upon heating, the sleeve shrinks at a 2:1 ratio while the adhesive melts and flows into conductor interstices, forming a 100% waterproof barrier that withstands harsh engine-room and bilge vibrations.
Key Features
-
Hot-Melt Adhesive Inner Seal: Thermoplastic adhesive lining melts and flows under heat recovery to permanently lock out moisture and prevent corrosion.
-
Tough Polyamide (Nylon) Outer Sleeve: Resists mechanical chafe, cut-through, wire pull-out strain, and chemical breakdown from diesel, motor oil, battery acid, and salt water.
-
High-Purity Tin-Plated Copper Barrel: Delivers low contact resistance and maximum tensile hold strength (22.7 kg / 50 lbs pull-out resistance).
-
Translucent Color-Coded Body: Blue sleeve allows visual verification of wire strand entry and crimp alignment prior to heating.
-
Seamless Wire Isolation: Provides a compact, continuous 1:1 inline splice that routes through tight wire looms and conduits without snagging.
