The Sertec CMCE 0000022 (model designation CMCE 55) is an industrial-grade electro-atmospheric charge de-coupler / lightning protection head. It provides a 55 m (180 ft) protection radius — equivalent to a 110 m (360 ft) total protection diameter — safeguarding commercial buildings, telecom towers, industrial plants, and large marine vessels against direct lightning strikes.

Operating as a passive charge-neutralizing system, the CMCE 55 continuously drains ground-to-cloud atmospheric potential gradients. By neutralizing the formation of upward streamers before an ionization channel can form, it prevents direct lightning strikes within its coverage zone, eliminating high-energy current surges into sensitive electrical systems and structural steel.
