Sertec CMCE 0000049 CMCE NICE NANO Lightning Suppressor

Sertec CMCE 0000049 (CMCE NICE NANO) Marine Lightning Protection Device

The Sertec CMCE 0000049 (model designation CMCE NICE NANO) is an ultra-compact, lightweight electro-atmospheric charge de-coupler / lightning suppression head. Designed specifically for marine craft, sailboats, small yachts, motorboats, and light telecommunications poles, the CMCE NANO prevents direct lightning strikes by continuously draining ambient static charge from the surrounding atmosphere.

Unlike traditional Franklin lightning rods that attract strikes to a specific point, Sertec's patented CMCE technology balances the electrical potential between the vessel and the storm cloud. By neutralizing the formation of upward streamers before a leader can form, the CMCE NICE NANO eliminates the conditions required for a direct strike within its designated protection radius.

Key Features

  • Preventative Strike Protection: Prevents upward streamer formation, stopping lightning strikes before they occur rather than diverting high currents through sensitive electronics.

  • Ultra-Lightweight & Aerodynamic: Engineered for masthead installation on sailboats and small craft without affecting rigging balance or adding excessive weight.

  • 100% Passive Operation: Requires no external power supply, batteries, or electronic control units; operates purely on atmospheric potential gradients.

  • Corrosion-Resistant Marine Build: Constructed from high-grade AISI 316 stainless steel and marine aluminum to withstand salt spray, severe weather, and high wind velocity.
