The Hella Marine 5XA 285 814-001 (Model: Apelo Light Controller) is a high-performance 12V/24V DC smart RGB/W lighting controller designed to command, synchronize, and dim marine LED lighting systems. Engineered to operate with Hella Marine's Apelo ecosystem—including Apelo underwater lights, EuroLED 75/95 downlights, and RGB step lamps—this controller also supports universal 3rd-party 4-wire RGB and 5-wire RGBW LED products.

Operating on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Mesh technology, multiple controllers can communicate wirelessly across the vessel without requiring physical data interconnect cables. The unit allows full spectrum color customization, scene creation, and dynamic zone control via the companion Apelo Light Controller App (iOS and Android), as well as physical override control via standard momentary multi-pole switches. Housed in an IP67 completely sealed, V0-rated flame-retardant enclosure, it is purpose-built for harsh saltwater environments.
